Tournament Restructure: Online Qualifiers Set the Stage for Budapest Playoffs
- 20/07/2025
An updated schedule for the upcoming series has been revealed, offering new adjustments to the event's structure. The organizers decided on some format changes to better align with the increasingly busy competitive scene.
The tournament will no longer hold an onsite group round. The modified plan replaces that segment with an online stage where competing teams will face off from August 13 to 17. This alteration aims to ease scheduling issues arising from recent high-demand tournaments.
The revised format now features a centralized online qualifier that brings together previously separate regional rounds. Under this plan, eight teams will secure their participation for the main playoffs scheduled in Budapest from September 18 to 21.
Key adjustments include:
- Elimination of the onsite group stage in favor of an online battle phase.
- A single, closed European qualifier replacing earlier planned regional contests.
- Match dates from August 13 to 17 determining the finalists for the main competition.
This strategic shift is intended to streamline operations and maintain a high level of play during the playoffs. Will you be following the series this August?
