Twitter Limits Polls, For You Recommendations to Verified Blue Users: Elon Musk

Twitter CEO Elon Musk on Tuesday announced that only verified accounts would be eligible to be in For You recommendations and also revealed the reason behind it. In a tweet, he declared that starting April 15th, only verified accounts will be allowed to participate in polls and for your recommendations.

Recently, Twitter announced that it would remove blue ticks from legacy verified accounts starting April 1st unless they have subscribed to Twitter Blue or the business-focused Twitter Verified Organizations plan. The idea behind this move was to make sure no one misuses their blue tick status on the platform, as there are many fake profiles pretending to be real people with influential statuses on social media platforms, including Twitter.

As a result of this announcement by Twitter, CEO Elon Musk took it upon himself and declared another policy change that requires all users who want access to polls and your recommendations must verify their account before participating in either activity. According to him, this is the only realistic way to address advanced AI bot swarms taking over, which can otherwise become a losing battle if not addressed properly.

It has been observed that even though bots are programmed intelligently enough, they lack human behavior patterns, which often results in making them more vulnerable than actual humans when it comes down to security purposes of any kind, especially online security measures like the ones taken by companies like Facebook or Google, etc., but now we can see how even Twitter is trying its best too keep its platform safe from any malicious activities being conducted by unknown sources such as hackers or bad actors on its website.

In conclusion, we may have seen very few attempts at curbing malicious activities online being made so far, but with technology becoming more accessible day by day, every company needs stringent policies like these ones implemented so that everyone's safety can be ensured while using their services.
