Monster Hunter Wilds Set to Release on February 28, 2025: New Trailer and Details Unveiled
- 26/09/2024
The excitement surrounding the upcoming release in the Monster Hunter franchise continues to build as fans eagerly anticipate new adventures. The highly awaited Monster Hunter Wilds is officially scheduled to launch globally on February 28, 2025, across all gaming platforms. During today's PlayStation State of Play live presentation, Capcom unveiled the confirmed release date along with information regarding the opening of pre-orders, which start today.
Fans are thrilled about the exclusive bonuses that accompany early purchases, enhancing their anticipation for the game's debut. Speculation about an early 2025 release was fueled by recent promotional videos from Capcom, and it seems that fans’ expectations were spot on. The timing of the release fits neatly into the calendar, just after the earlier release of Monster Hunter World on January 26, 2018. Although series producer Ryozo Tsujimoto didn’t divulge much additional information during the announcement, the new trailer showcased exciting content. Viewers were introduced to at least three new monsters, including a rather fierce-looking fire creature.
The characterization of this monster’s temperament aligns with the theme suggested by the trailer, which also highlights the mischievous nature of the game's Palicoes. Additionally, audiences were given a revealing look at the game’s storyline and the enigmatic young boy who appears to be the focal character. Alongside a semi-mythical entity that the boy seems to believe in, hints are dropped about a latent power he possesses, which is anticipated to play a significant role throughout the journey, especially as players confront larger and more formidable foes. Insights shared by the developers indicate that they view a previous PSP title as a pivotal moment for the series, even more so than the blockbuster Monster Hunter World.
