How to Play The Outer Worlds – Gameplay Tips and Tricks
- 30/03/2021
The Outer Worlds is being developed by a new studio, Obsidian Entertainment, founded by a group of industry veterans that includes the co-creators of Fallout, Fallout 2, and Planescape: Torment. The Outer Worlds features a unique combat system that combines real-time gunplay with pause-able action, a reworked dialogue system, branching storylines, and multiple companions.
In The Outer Worlds, you’re a mercenary working for a mega-corporation that’s run out of control. You and your team of misfit characters are sent to a distant planet on the edge of the galaxy to find a way to turn back an alien invasion.
Once on the planet, you’ll have to deal with the local population, survive in a deadly environment, and wrestle with your own morality as you decide whether to save the planet or join the side of the enemy.
Tip 1: Don't go into a fight unprepared
It is easy to get caught up in the action-packed portions of The Outer Worlds and get into a lot of shootouts. That being said, it is also easy to forget that enemies will take advantage of any opportunity to strike at you. If you get caught without a weapon and have to fight an armed enemy, you will be at a severe disadvantage.
Tip 2: You can gather information from almost anyone
Talk to people. They will tell you about themselves, their problems, and the world around them. If you want to know more about an object, try examining it. You will often learn more about the world this way than you would from other people.
There are no artificial barriers to who you can talk to. You might not learn a lot from everyone, but you will learn something.
Tip 3: Invest in your crew members
When you hire crew members to join your crew, you are given the option to focus on a specific role, such as medical or mechanical. While you can do that, you should also invest in their abilities and in how loyal they are to you. The more you invest in your crew, the more you will be able to unlock their abilities and the more loyal they will be to you.
This will have a direct impact on their ability to heal your wounds and keep your ship running smoothly.
Tip 4: Use different weapons
Each weapon has different effects on your enemies. Try using different weapons for different situations. There's a shotgun, a laser, a rocket launcher, and a flamethrower.
Tip 5: Don't feel pressured to make any decisions quickly
Be sure to listen to what the different NPCs have to say. Some decisions are made on a timer, but most are not. There are so many options that you can't be sure you've tried everything until you've played through the game multiple times.
Conclusion
The Outer Worlds is a rather interesting game. It's not an RPG in the strictest sense of the word, but it is an RPGLite with a very strong narrative focus. The Outer Worlds PC game is an action RPG that provides a great gaming experience for fans of the genre. If you're a fan of the genre, I think you should play The Outer Worlds.
