This walkthrough is your ultimate resource for navigating the multiple haunted mansions in Luigi’s second supernatural adventure. We’ll provide detailed, step-by-step instructions on how to progress through each area, along with comprehensive guides for locating every single Boo and Gem. Whether you’re a novice explorer or a seasoned ghostbuster, this guide aims to be your definitive companion in mastering this remastered game.
Chapter 1: Setting the Scene
The game kicks off with Luigi being zapped down to the Gloomy Manor. Your first mission? Obtain Professor E.Gadd's Poltergust 5000. As soon as you arrive, head towards the manor’s entrance, only to find a mouse darting out with the key you need. Chase the mouse around the courtyard to claim the key and start your haunted house adventure.
Gloomy Manor Gem #1
Before diving deeper into the manor, look to your right at the entrance door. You’ll find a purple flower that can be flashed with your strobulb, revealing the first gem. Make a note to come back for it once you have all the necessary gear.
Chapter 2: The Garage - Securing the Poltergust 5000
Once inside the manor, take the first left to enter the Garage. Here, you can interact with various items to collect coins. Pay special attention to an old car, where you will find the Poltergust 5000. Now, practice your vacuuming skills by holding down the ZR button to clean up piles of dust around the room.
Move Luigi to the back-left corner of the garage and pull a sheet off a chest to obtain a gold key. This key is essential for opening the central door in the hallway.
Gloomy Manor Gem #2
As you explore, you’ll notice a ghost pup digging in the garden, which contains a gem in a tree. Use your new Poltergust to hoover the gem from the tree.
Chapter 3: Navigating the Hallway
Head back to the hallway and use your Poltergust to remove the sheet from the door on the right side. Enter the Mudroom, where you will find another key spinning on a ceiling fan. Retrieve it by spinning the fan with your Poltergust. After collecting any additional treasures, return to the hallway and use the gold key to open the central door.
Chapter 4: The Guard Hall and Foyer
Next, proceed to the Guard Hall, where you'll need to dodge falling swords from the suits of armor. Once through, enter the Foyer using the gold key obtained in the Mudroom. Here, you can find a heart hidden in a vase behind the fish fountain. Head for the staircase where Professor E.Gadd will reveal that you need a Strobulb to progress further.
Ascend the stairs and use your Poltergust to direct air blasts at the fan above the chandelier. This action will lower the chandelier, allowing you to grab the Strobulb. Now equipped, you can open green panel doors, stun ghosts, and unlock safes.
Before proceeding, head back upstairs and use the Strobulb to open a safe filled with coins. Once you’re done, go back to the bottom of the stairs and enter the Coatroom.
Chapter 5: Battle in the Coatroom
In the Coatroom, interact with the toilet to discover a hidden area featuring a ghost in a shower. After this encounter, collect coins and use your suction skills on the surrounding towels. Return to the Coatroom, where you’ll face your first ghost fight against a small green specter. Learn the combat mechanics: flash the ghost with your Strobulb, then vacuum it while directing Luigi in the opposite direction to wear it down. When prompted, press "A" to cause significant damage. Successfully defeating the ghost will unlock the blocked doors.
Chapter 6: Final Challenges in the Foyer
Before the level concludes, you'll face a trio of ghosts in the Foyer. This is a perfect opportunity to hone your ghost-busting skills. Once you’ve defeated them, the professor will transport you back to the bunker for a debrief on your ghost-busting achievements and treasures collected.
Boo - Boogie Woogie
After acquiring the dark-light device, return to the Garage. Use the dark light beside the car to find and engage Boogie Woogie. Defeat this Boo by following it and draining its energy with your dark light, and then use your Poltergust to capture it finally.
Conclusion
By adhering to this guide, you’ll have all the tools and knowledge necessary to excel in the opening level of Luigi's Mansion 2 HD. Stay tuned for further chapters as we delve deeper into the haunted halls and rooms of this spooky adventure.
